The Rotary Club of Camp Panopio joins forces for coastal cleanup at Barangay 2 Poblacion, Calatagan, Batangas, as part of the club’s support for the International Coastal Cleanup Event.

On a sunny morning, the Rotary Club of Camp Panopio, in collaboration with the Vice Mayor of Calatagan, Ogie Zarraga, embarked on a meaningful journey to clean up the coastal area of Barangay 2 Poblacion in Calatagan, Batangas. This joint effort included dedicated members from the Rotary Club of Calatagan, local tourism personnel, and the Knights of Columbus, who came together on September 20, 2026, at 7 AM for a day of environmental stewardship. The club proudly shifted its efforts to the following day, demonstrating its unwavering dedication to making a positive impact on the environment.

The Rotary Club of Camp Panopio eagerly participated in the cleanup drive led by TLP Frank Macatangay, Rotarian Dr. Loida Juangco, Rotarians Michelle Ferrer, Myla Tuazon, PP Rose Parinas, and her spouse, Bien Parinas. Armed with gloves, trash bags, and a sense of purpose, they set out to protect the beautiful coastline.

Vice Mayor Ogie Zarraga played a vital role in this initiative, guiding the group to the coastal area and inspiring everyone to take action against water pollution. Together, we worked tirelessly, collecting numerous sacks filled with plastic waste and debris that threatened the marine ecosystem.

This collaborative effort not only highlighted the importance of community involvement in protecting our environment but also fostered a spirit of camaraderie among the participants, all united by a common goal: to preserve the beauty and health of our coastal waters for future generations. coastal waters for future generations
